Open House Lofts is a focused operation. We are not a moderation shop, a strategy firm, or a vendor stack. We do two things, and we do them at a level our clients can feel.
We rent our flagship lofts in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago for in- person sessions of every kind. And we recruit every respondent for those sessions - whether you're fielding in-loft, in-home, or virtually. Every recruit is sourced in-house, by our team, from our own database. Never panels. Never outsourced.

Yes. We work with a trusted panel of seasoned moderators and analysts who can support moderation and analysis needs on a project-by-project basis. Let us know what you need, and we can recommend the right fit.
Yes. We recruit for online focus groups, remote IDIs, asynchronous bulletin boards, and hybrid studies (some respondents in-loft, some remote) on every major platform-Zoom, Discuss.io, Recollective and others. Same standards as our in-person recruits.
Online panels optimize for speed and scale. For research where five wrong respondents can ruin a project, the trade-off doesn’t work. Panel respondents are often professional survey- takers, lightly verified, and rarely a true match for the screener you wrote. Our database and organic recruiting cost more in time and effort, but the respondents are real.
Not at the moment. We’ve focused our operation on the two things we do best: facility rentals and in-house recruiting. You bring (or hire) your own moderator and analyst – we’ll make sure the space and the people are exactly what the project needs.
Consumer (general population, parents, demographic targets), B2B (SMB owners, IT decision-makers, finance, marketing), and a wide range of niche or hard-to-reach groups. If you have a brief, share it – we will tell you honestly whether it’s something we can recruit well.
Yes. We can recruit for ethnographic studies when they are an extension of an in-person or virtual study being fielded with Open House Lofts.
Please note, we do not recruit for ethnographic-only projects.
For straightforward consumer recruits in our markets, 2-3 weeks is comfortable. For complex B2B or low-incidence work, we recommend 4-6 weeks. We can move faster when we have to-just talk to us about the timeline up front.
No. Our lofts also host innovation workshops, co-creation sessions, brand offsites, corporate meetings and creative events. The same things that make them good research spaces- natural light, comfortable furniture, breakout areas, full A/V-make them good for working sessions of any kind.
